The religious and political leaders attacked Jesus during His earthly ministry because He kept exposing their lies and hypocrisy.
Luke 16:13-15
13 No servant
can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or
else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and
mammon. [ed. Mammon is when we make greed into our false god, allowing that to rule our lives.]
14 And the Pharisees also,
who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
15 And he said unto them,
Ye
are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for
that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Wouldn't it be nice to choose to be at peace with the one real God, and rely on His salvation, instead of being filled with lust and discontent?
