1 Chronicles 10:13-14
13
So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the
LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for
asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of
it;
14 And enquired not of the
LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
Worldly systems and philosophies of government and religions have never been a friend of God nor of His Word. Though there is much seeking after power and so-called spirituality, there is little seeking after what God says to us and wants of us. God has never been pleased with people going off to do "their own thing", instead of following what He has commanded. He tells us, ahead of time, what is good and evil. He tells us, ahead of time, the fruit and consequences of our choices, whether we choose to walk with Him or fight against Him. Even our neglect of Him, His Word, and His ways is a choice to attack His command.
He tells us, in Romans Chapter One, that all the natural world and its laws of nature show us, inexcusably, that God is God and that all things point to our need to heed Him and draw close to Him.
Therefore, since He has already given us His Word in the Bible, let us seek the Almighty Self-existent Eternal God, our Creator, in and through His only begotten son, His only Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, who, alone, led a sinless perfect life that He, alone, could shed His sinless blood and die for our sin, and then that He raised Himself from the dead on the third day, as He promised, according to the Scripture. His only plan of salvation is that all of us can and must turn to Him alone, in "repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ", if we want to choose eternal life in God. Otherwise, we shall have chosen to die alone, forever, in conscious separation and torment. Please turn from your sin, now, and turn to God's only plan of salvation and He shall make you free from the bondage and burden of your sin and its eternal consequences.
