First of all, we need to wake up to learn to love and to know the love of God Almighty, our Creator, the Self-existent and Eternal One. He says that if we push away God and put anything, including ourselves, ahead of Him in our lives that we have made those things into our gods, and that by our sinful self-centered thoughts and actions we condemn ourselves to everlasting destruction.
Exodus 20:3: Thou
shalt have no other gods before me.
Exodus 34:14: For
thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous,
is a jealous God:
Deuteronomy 6:5: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deuteronomy 11:1: Therefore, thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his
charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
Matthew 22:37: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God
with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
\Mark 12:30: And
thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first
commandment.
Luke 10:27: And
he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with
all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy
neighbour as thyself.
Secondly, do we really understand what God means when He commands us that we are to love everyone around us in our families, neighborhoods, towns, cities, counties, and nations. Even when Christ walked the Earth, some people tried to get out of their responsibilities by asking Him, "Who is my neighbor?" Forget the modern political "woke" foolishness. Wake up to God's definition that every human being is our neighbor and that we are responsible to God for living in His Truth.
Leviticus 19:18: Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of
thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
Matthew 19:19: Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
Matthew 22:39: And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
Mark 12:31: And
the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Romans 13:9: For
this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be
any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 5:14: For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
James 2:8: If ye
fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself, ye do well:
For us to learn true love we must learn to come to God on His terms, repenting of our sin and trusting, by faith alone, in His plan of salvation. God tells us that we cannot please Him through any kind of penance, but that we must wholly trust His Savior who already paid the full price for our sin. Then and only then shall we begin to learn what real love means and how to live it, for real love is self-sacrificing, instead of being about feelings or flattery. God bless you to begin to learn and practice real godly love.
