Many folks are concerned about
firearms. I'll say right here that there are definitely SOME people who should not have or use them for a host of reasons, such as incompetence, immoral intents, lack of responsible training, BUT ALL responsible law-abiding citizens have the Right to keep and bear arms for defense of self and others.
Some people are afraid of firearms. Their reasons do not change their irrational fear. Some love firearms. Their reasons do not change their love of arms. Many people have no idea how firearms work and seem to think that firearms can jump off the shelf and go kill people, as if firearms had minds or wills of their own. THAT ignorant view is not reasonable nor rational, since firearms are inanimate objects that require human beings to use them.
It is NOT rational that firearms get blamed for human driven mal-intent and violence. People, rather than firearms are responsible violence, and people should be held accountable, instead of blaming firearms for human failures.
Some people are for, and some are against, the un-infringed, constitutionally-responsible, ownership and use
of firearms and munitions by law-abiding citizens. Few anti-gun politicians, or other anti-gun
people, seriously consider the eventual social consequences of their efforts to prevent law-abiding citizens access to or ownership of the
firearms and ammunition of the law-abiding citizens' own choice. The following commentary by
Bob Owens raises the specter of outright nationwide rebellion, incited by the
ongoing political attacks against our Constitution and Rights, that started 104 years ago and continue to our present day.
Bob Owens' commentary:
What many folks fail to face is
that, even if there is no such rebellion about the ongoing egregious
infringements against our Civil Rights, as Owens speculates, IF law-abiding citizens are wholly deprived of their Rights to self-defense, there will STILL be a host of
violence-minded criminal types and organizations (such as gangs, terrorists,
and drug cartels, as well as insane people), who will be the only ones with
sufficient disdain for law and order to secure for themselves all the weapons
that they desire in order to do their own violent pleasure and harm to the rest of us in
society.
When and if the anti-gun crowd
becomes able to remove all, or sufficient quantities of, firearms and ammunition from the hands of law-abiding
citizens, then firearms will STILL be made available to criminals by those
whose love of money and power is greater than their regard for constitutional
law or human decency. I
submit California’s own anti-gunner U.S. Senator Yee as a prime example of a
seller of illegal arms for profit. The likes of him will continue to do
whatever they want, selling to whomever they want, even though they have stood
up in public swearing to support and defend our Constitution and then unconstitutionally swearing to take guns away from law-abiding citizens.
We must work to return our
government to the clear legal and moral guidance of our Constitution and Bill
of Rights!
