YouTube Satire and Jesus Christ Agree: Law-Abiding Citizens Should Arm Themselves

Many political leaders, in 2015, plus members of the court system, and popular urban media, continue to attempt to drive law-abiding citizens into a corner. Significant portions of those first three elements of our society have been seeking to disarm law-abiding citizens for over 100 years, even though those first three continue to fail to eliminate violent crime and other anti-social acts against all citizens. As those anti-arms elements cry out and work to disarm law-abiding citizens, those same politicians, media, and fearful citizens look to armed private bodyguards and armed police departments to save them from evil. BUT, too often, those who attack the rights of law-abiding citizens, also, frivolously persecute police officers and police departments (aside from occasional justifiable prosecutions).

Yes, police are held to a higher standard, because of their training and authority. But, that is no excuse for members of society to push police to the point that they become ineffective, due to unjust public outbursts and reprisals. Those in power, and the public, CANNOT unjustly harass police officers and departments and still expect anyone to come to their rescue. Those who falsely accuse police of atrocious things, and think to set up the police as their own marionettes or straw dogs, engage in immoral, anti-social, futile, and irresponsible behavior that gives only the most wistful and delusional among us a sense of hope or safety. Let's face it, the police cannot control society. The individuals who make up society must control themselves. The police are there to gather information and try to sort out the messes that the rest of us make, taking that information to the courts for the courts to adjudicate properly (but THAT last part is another whole topic in itself).

It is, also, irresponsible and immoral that many of those who refuse to take personal responsibility for protecting themselves, and their loved ones, are all too willing to wholly disarm law-abiding citizens, or, at the very least, deprive other citizens of the same means of defense on which they themselves rely. Numerous cases come to mind of politicians who still depend on armed security details and/or personally owned firearms to protect themselves. Yet, those same gun-haters, who thus benefit from paying other people to carry and use firearms in their defense, still say they hate guns and continue to legislate against decent citizens having guns, or certain guns, or certain ammo, or certain magazines. For those gun-hating abusers of Civil Rights, the U.S. Constitution only seems to apply when it is convenient for them personally or politically. THAT is NOT what our Constitution says, nor does God, as we'll eventually see.

Those firearms hypocrites too often want to be able to have or buy armed protection services for themselves and their loved ones, whether privately or at taxpayer expense. Many of them seem to claim to be "liberal" or "progressive" morally and/or politically, but by their rejection of the constitutional self-defense and firearms rights of the rest of society, they set themselves up as elitists and snobs, thinking themselves better or more valuable to society than the rest of us. From behind their walls and guns, they rant against the Documents and rational Foundation of the service that they have secured for their own protection: they fail to support and defend the Constitution and legitimate police activity unless it is of profit to them, somehow.

Too often public outcries and mob activity are the result of insufficient or prejudicial information. The political knee-jerk actions that follow bad information, hurt everyone involved, even though a few souls get temporarily placated. The people stirred to mob action are too often apologetically patronized and defended by Liberals, which only feeds the deadly cycles of social slavery and distrust. Why don't we see an unarmed, unprotected Obama, Bloomberg, Clinton, Feinstein, or Yee, and the likes of them, down in the trenches during the riots and social unrest, WITHOUT their bodyguards or firearms? Why are they so afraid to meet the real people of the U.S.A. where the people live and fight for survival? But, no, the Liberal power-brokers and power-mongers much prefer to let their minions do the dirty work, while their armed security details defend them in hiding, hiding behind firearms and muscle, as they wait for a spotlight to spew their inflammatory rhetoric and invective to incite further public ignorance, dependency, and eventually greater unrest.

The armed-detail-protected, socially-sequestered, Liberal citizens that throw their weight behind the knee-jerk public and media sentiment, must surely be getting more than just political hay out of every mob action and violent public outbreak. What is the payout for those Liberals? Why won't they encourage the media and public to wait for full and appropriate forensics and legal discovery in cases of alleged inappropriate or alleged malicious police behavior? Why is it that violent public reactions are so easily excused and embraced by Liberals who are hiding behind their armed guards? Why do the Liberals not call for godly repentance in our nation?

This story sounds very familiar. Historically, people have too often demanded authoritative protection, only to quickly reject how that same requested authority chose to exercise itself. The Old Testament Jews told God that they did not want to hear or be close to him any more, and that they wanted God to give them a king, so they could be just like all the heathen nations around them. God warned them that they wouldn't like having a king, but the Jews insisted that they wanted one (just like people, today, keep yammering that they don't want citizens to have guns, but that they want lots of government and police protection that is backed by guns). Well, God gave the people a king, instead of dealing with them Himself.

Guess what! The Jews quickly and bitterly complained and lamented that they had asked for a king, because that king demanded and took their time, their wealth, their sons, their daughters, their own lives, substance, and service, and used all those things the way that the king wanted to use them, sometimes for good and sometimes for evil.

Look around! Life today is no different! If we assume "honest" elections in every polling place across our nation, then every politician in office today was elected by the majority of the public who bothered to go to the polls. Every one of those politicians in positions of administration then appointed officials to oversee the various police departments about which so many people are now complaining. Why, then, do so many of those who voted the politicians into office, and by default approved the departmental choices and actions of those elected officials, NOW complain about the very work that their own personally selected administrations are doing? What did they vote for, a big toothy grin? wavy hair? a well-favored body? a well-tailored suit? a false promise of safety and prosperity that no politician can guarantee? Why do people elect officials about whom they are then going to complain?

When it comes down to public safety issues, why don't those complaining voters step up to their constitutional responsibilities and fix the problems of public safety by arming themselves and refusing to be victims? Read the research (More Guns, Less Crime by J.R. Lott, Jr.) and discover that well-armed communities of responsible law-abiding citizens have fewer violent crimes against citizens than the areas of our nation in which responsible firearm ownership is discouraged or thwarted.

The following YouTube post came to me a few days ago. According to much that we all have seen in the popular media, it definitely looks and sounds as if the YouTube skit is right on target concerning where some of the urban leaders, media, and fearful citizens want police department mandates and policies to be heading. The YouTube skit illustrates the cancers of fear, ignorance, and moral degradation that are eating at our society. Those cancers exist because our society in general has rejected God and His Word as our Supreme Authority. Instead they have substituted themselves and relativism, both of which have no fixed reference point or anchor in Law, by which to judge righteously one person's predilections and sins from any other person's errors and crimes.

Politicians, media, and citizens, who would follow the skit's formula for determining when and what police do, are in BIG trouble, and their relativistic, immoral, actions shall damage many souls in our nation. Many preachers of God's Word, and many of us in alternate communications media, have been warning of social degradation for a long time. God has been warning us about such things since the very beginning of human culture.

Our cities, and especially our big cities, are particularly prone to the effects of social decay. For some reason, delusion, or wishful thinking, many city dwellers don't seem to understand that by stacking themselves on top of each other, like so much cord-wood, they are able to incinerate themselves easily, almost any time that someone drops a figurative match. As we've seen in numerous U.S. cities in past decades and over this last year, that figurative pile of burning social wood is hard to extinguish. Conversely, scattered groups, towns, or individuals in the countryside tend to resist social evils and promote mutual well-being far more easily. While I was in college in the 1970s, community development research found that communities with the majority of their buildings at three stories, or less, if I recall correctly, tended to develop closer, healthier communities, whereas cities with high-rise and mega-high-rise housing tended to foster fewer healthy, friendly, socially responsible relationships, tending to stir people toward more aggressive interpersonal and social behaviors. That's just food for thought.

That skit would be funny, if the implications of it weren’t really happening in the legal system and "politically correct" circles around these United States of America. We need to return to doing what God says, especially with regard to our need to repent and get right with Him through His Savior. Once we repent, as God says, then, we all need to shoulder our biblical and constitutional responsibilities, INCLUDING picking up our arms and protecting ourselves and our loved ones, to stop the threats of evil that come against us. Jesus Christ said, in Matthew 24:43, "But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up." First, note that Jesus called the man a good man, not just a husband or father, or a friendly neighbor. That man was willing to defend his family and property, AND was doing the right thing in God's eyes. Though Christ was directly applying that lesson to the principle of spiritual readiness, Jesus knew that we have to be ready to support and defend our families at a moment's notice any and every hour of the day and night. His spiritual point demonstrates, in earthly terms, that it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to protect ourselves and our families from immediate dangers. That is NOT the responsibility of government or police to be our first line of defense against evil. To think and act contrary to that Christ-given truth is to act in ignorance, or willful rebellion, virtually daring evil to heap its harmful consequences on anyone who fails to heed God's warning.

Even with all its strong statements, this posting is not simply a rant leveled against many named herein, but an alarm that all of us need to heed. For too long, too many citizens have stood by and watched our nation slide toward the social chasm of No-return. It is, now, high time for each of us to stop relying on others to do our duty for us. Let's pull together in support and defense of our Constitution, our Rights, ourselves, and our loved ones!
